Located near the seafront and in Hastings historic Old Town, Potting Cottage offers an ideal escape for a romantic weekend for two or for a longer and leisurely break. It is a 19th-century fisherman’s cottage that oozes charm and cosiness. Attached at the side is a fisherman’s smokehouse, now converted into a bathroom and kitchen. The cottage has been made into a snug hideaway for holidaymakers. The conversion retains the cottage’s rustic character while having been transformed into a stylish holiday home experience.

The cottage is ideally suited for one or two adults, as it contains one bedroom with en-suite bathroom. However, the king-size bed can be detached into two single beds, or the sofa downstairs can fold out into a bed, if required. Please be aware that although the cottage is on two floors, the layout is open plan and the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom. Towels and bed sheets are provided. We also provide beach towels in the warmer months.
We are happy to have one or two small, house-trained dogs stay. For the dogs, we provide two roll-out blankets and food and water bowls.

There is a picnic hamper for you to take out on days to the beach or the East Hill country park.

As the cottage is situated on a twitten/footpath so there is no dedicated parking, however, there are two pay and display car parks about five to ten minutes walk away and for unloading/loading luggage you can use Winding Street which is adjacent to the footpath. The Old Town itself is a small area, so everything is within walking distance.

Do be aware that as this is a coastal town there is naturally a noticeable population of seagulls and sometimes they can be noisy.

Minimum stay 3-night minimum stay except in July and August when it’s a 7-night minimum.
One month or more bookings accepted.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out 10 am, we can be flexible depending on bookings.
Bookings are for one or two guests.
